Sand Springs, OK Job Details Part-time $13.50 an hour 15 hours ago Qualifications Lifeguard Training Lifeguard Certification Full Job Description Job Summary Serve as lifeguard for all pool operations; provide constant surveillance of pool activities. Service Work (95%) Guards the safety of swimmers by providing constant surveillance of the entire pool area Directs and supervises the behavior of all swimmers to ensure compliance with pool safety rules Provides emergency lifesaving assistance to troubled or drowning swimmers; performs lifesaving CPR and First Aid in accordance with certified practices and procedures; contacts emergency medical assistance when needed; stays with victims until emergency medical assistance takes over care of the victim. Maintains neatness and cleanliness of the pool area; collects/disposes of trash; maintains neat and orderly pool office. Other Responsibilities (5%) Performs other related work as required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of life saving techniques and ability to perform them in emergency situations Ability to supervise swimmers and provide constant surveillance of pool activities in order to ensure swimmers' safety and to respond to emergency rescue when needed. Ability to enforce all swimming pool rules Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language Ability to swim and meet lifesaving requirements Education and Experience Must be at least 15 years of age. Complete the required training to be a certified lifeguard AND six months experience as a lifeguard OR any equivalent demonstration of training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Certifications/Licenses Red Cross Certified Lifeguard Physical Requirements Ability to meet attendance requirements. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) Working Conditions Work is performed in an indoor pool environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with humidity, heat, noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
