Recreation, Job Summary Serve as lifeguard for all pool operations; provide constant surveillance of pool activities. Service Work (95%) Guards the safety of swimmers by providing constant surveillance of the entire pool area Directs and supervises the behavior of all swimmers to ensure compliance with pool safety rules Provides emergency lifesaving assistance to troubled or drowning swimmers; performs lifesaving CPR and First Aid in accordance with certified practices and procedures; contacts emergency medical assistance when needed; stays with victims until emergency medical assistance takes over care of the victim. Maintains neatness and cleanliness of the pool area; collects/disposes of trash; maintains neat and orderly pool office. Other Responsibilities (5%) Performs other related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Education and Experience Must be at least 15 years of age. Complete the required training to be a certified lifeguard AND six months experience as a lifeguard OR any equivalent demonstration of training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
