Employee discounts and a flexible part-time schedule that works around your life Responsibilities Teach swim lessons using the British Swim School curriculum and serve as a role model for the instructor team Learn and master the British Swim School teaching method and train new instructors on the curriculum Serve as a deck ambassador — engage warmly with students, parents, and families on deck Observe classes and conduct coaching reports to ensure safety protocols and swim techniques meet British Swim School brand standards Lead monthly in-service meetings and ongoing training sessions for the instructor team Communicate with parents about their children's progress and address questions or concerns with confidence and care Help recruit, onboard, and develop the instructor team alongside the Aquatics Director Attend regular meetings with Aquatics Director to maintain brand compliance Engage with swimmers by smiling, singing, and making every lesson fun and encouraging Work at home admin hours to help manage your team, and help keep on top of any customer or student needs Work with and communicate with the Admin team about potential changes in schedules, move up or other customer needs Manage and schedule a mid-sized team of instructors Supervise training on an ongoing basis Post schedule for worksite using When I Work What We're Looking For Experience managing a team at a physical location that requires constant customer service and excellence Comfort and confidence in the water — experience as a swimmer, water polo player, or prior swim instructor strongly preferred Outgoing, energetic personality with a genuine love of working with young children Strong customer service skills — in person, by phone, and via email Willingness to learn and follow British Swim School franchise brand standards Current Lifeguard, CPR, or First Aid certification preferred — but we're open to discussing obtaining it post-hire Ideally able to commute a few times to our San Diego (Rancho Penasquitos) location to train directly with the team Training & Schedule All Managers complete approximately 50+ hours of paid training (online and in-water) at one of our locations typically including our Rancho Peñasquitos pool. Once certified, ongoing coaching and additional training opportunities keep you sharp and growing. After training, you'll be set up with a consistent weekly schedule based on our needs.Available shifts:
Monday-Thursday:
3:00-7:30/8:00PM Saturday-Sunday:
9:00 AM-1:30/2:30 PM Please note: Pool availability varies by location and day. We do not offer half-shifts, so full availability within one or more of these windows is required. New candidates should be willing to work ideally 3-4 of these days. Our Locations This Role is specifically for our Santee, El Cajon and Bonita locations We currently operate pools across 7 San Diego locations: Rancho Peñasquitos- UTC Mall

- Escondido
- Santee
- El Cajon
- Bonita Most of our instructors work across multiple locations.
