Lifeguard City of Bryan - 3.7 Bryan, TX Job Details Temporary $12 an hour 6 days ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Swimming Full Job Description The City of Bryan Parks & Recreation Department is currently accepting application for Summer Lifeguard. This position monitors activities at a City of Bryan swimming pool to prevent accidents and quickly respond to aquatic and pool facility emergencies.
Work Schedule:
Up to 40 hours/week available Flexible days & times available Monday-Friday between 8am-8pm Sat & Sun hours vary Approximately May to mid-July or mid-August (may start sooner depending on availability)
Hiring Pay Rate:
$12.00/hour
Responsibilities:
Monitors pool areas as assigned. Maintains continuous surveillance of patrons in and around the swimming pool. Maintains order in the pool and adjoining areas. Cautions swimmers regarding unsafe practices and safety hazards. Acts immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of patrons in the event of an emergency. Performs appropriate water rescues when necessary; performs first aid or CPR when needed. Spots hazards or potential hazards and takes measures to prevent accidents. Communicates with other lifeguards and facility staff about the need for additional assistance or equipment in an emergency. Delivers excellent customer service to all patrons. Observes, enforces, and educates patrons about the rules and regulations of the facility. Completes all required inspections and reports and submits them to the proper person or office. Maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary facility. Maintains appropriate fitness level to perform all essential functions of the position. Continually practices safe work habits and alerts management about safety and other workplace concerns. Reports for duty at the times specified and ensures a high standard of personal presentation and appearance is maintained per policy. Attends mandatory training, orientations, and other staff meetings as scheduled. Adheres to the policies, rules, regulations, and procedures of the City of Bryan and the Parks and Recreation Department. Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years of age. Previous Lifeguard or aquatic experience is preferred, but not required. Must possess American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification OR the ability to obtain the certification within the time frame set by the department. (The department will assist with obtaining required certification.)
