RATE OF PAY- $16.25-$19.50 PER HOUR (D.O.E.)
JOB SUMMARY
Lifeguards are responsible for representing and maintaining the standards of the Recreation Services Department by ensuring, the safety and quality leisure experience of all swimmers at the
PC MARC. TYPICAL JOB DUTIES
Supervises swimmers and prevents dangerous situations from occurring. This is done by enforcing rules diplomatically but rigorously, keeping the pool area free of physical dangers, and staying strictly attentive to those in the pool and on the deck. Performs water rescues and performs first aid as required. Maintains cleanliness and readiness of the pool areas by cleaning and vaccuming pools and hot tub, washing deck area, picking up trash, putting away pool equipment, covering and uncovering the pools. Provides customer service to patrons by answering questions, explaining why the rules need to be enforced, and addressing behavioral problems promptly.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION S
Lifeguard certification CPR certification First aid certification
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily outdoors in and around a pool. Possible exposure to chemicals used for pool maintenance. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to low.
