Role:
The Instructor/Lifeguard plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants in aquatic activities while also providing high-quality instruction in swimming and water safety. This position requires a balance of vigilance and teaching ability, as the instructor/lifeguard will monitor the pool area for any potential hazards while simultaneously leading lessons for individuals or groups. The ultimate goal is to foster a safe and enjoyable environment where participants can learn essential swimming skills and water safety practices. Additionally, the Instructor/Lifeguard will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the aquatic facility. This role is vital in promoting a culture of safety and health within the community through effective education and supervision. CP offer training for this role.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in teaching swimming lessons. Additional certifications in water safety or coaching. Experience working with diverse age groups and abilities. Current Lifeguard Certification from a recognized organization. Current CPR and First Aid Certification.Responsibilities:
Monitor the safety of all pool users and enforce facility rules and regulations. Provide swimming instruction to individuals and groups of varying skill levels. Perform rescues and administer first aid or CPR as necessary. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool area and equipment. Conduct regular safety drills and training sessions to ensure preparedness.Skills:
The required skills for this position include strong swimming abilities and a thorough understanding of water safety protocols, which are essential for effectively monitoring the pool and ensuring participant safety. Communication skills are vital, as the Instructor/Lifeguard must clearly convey instructions and safety information to participants of all ages. Problem-solving skills are also important, as the individual will need to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies or unexpected situations. Preferred skills, such as experience in teaching, enhance the ability to engage and motivate learners, making lessons more effective and enjoyable.
