Robertsdale Rehabilitation & HealthCare Center Description A housekeeper in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) provides essential cleaning, sanitation, and infection control to ensure a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for residents. Key duties include sanitizing resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas, managing waste, cleaning floors, and restocking supplies, often while interacting with elderly residents.
Key Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Cleaning & Sanitizing:
Perform daily cleaning of resident rooms, bathrooms, nurses' stations, and common areas (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting).
Infection Control:
Utilize proper sanitizing solutions and protocols to disinfect surfaces and prevent the spread of germs, particularly when handling bodily fluids.
Terminal Cleaning:
Thoroughly clean and sanitize rooms upon a resident's discharge, transfer, or passing.
Safety & Maintenance:
Keep hallways clear of hazardous objects, mop up spills, and ensure cleaning carts are organized and safe.
Waste Disposal:
Empty, clean, and sanitize trash containers and ash trays daily.
Linen Management:
Change bed linens, towels, and curtains as scheduled or needed.
Resident Interaction:
Respect resident privacy, treat personal belongings with care, and maintain a pleasant, supportive demeanor.
