The Part-Time Transporter/Housekeeper Inspector is responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation for residents while promoting a clean, safe, and well-maintained living environment. This position conducts routine housekeeping inspections, provides residents with instruction and coaching in independent living and housekeeping skills, monitors the condition of agency property, and assists with other operational needs of the Transitional Housing programs. The individual must demonstrate professionalism, maintain confidentiality, and treat all residents with dignity and respect.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Schedule and transport clients to appointments.
  • Perform housekeeping inspections, instruct, and assist clients with housekeeping tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
The candidate needs to have a high energy level, the ability to work independently and with a team, and the ability to work on weekends as required. A High School Diploma is required. Must have a valid Alabama driver's license. Eligible to be covered by the Presbyterian Home for Children's auto insurance, Must be able to pass a 12 panel drug screen. Must be able to pass an ABI/FBI background check through fingerprinting. A Child Abuse and Neglect check will also be completed and must be passed. Primary Responsibilities Maintain and use a transportation calendar to schedule resident appointments and transportation needs. Whenever possible, combine transportation runs to maximize efficiency. Safely transport residents to appointments, employment, meetings, and other approved destinations as assigned. Ensure the primary agency vehicle is kept clean, organized, and ready for use at all times. Promptly report any vehicle maintenance concerns, damage, or mechanical issues to the staff. Notify staff when the vehicles require fuel. Housekeeping Inspections Conduct weekly evening housekeeping inspections of all assigned cottages and apartments. Provide residents feedback and instructions to help improve housekeeping and independent living skills. Provide one-on-one housekeeping instructions to any resident who fails the same housekeeping standard on three consecutive inspections. Create and maintain a housekeeping inspection schedule for each cottage and apartment and provide a copy to the appropriate Case Manager. Complete a housekeeping inspection form for each resident, provide a copy to the resident, and submit a copy to the resident's Case Manager for the client file. Conduct two evening walkthroughs of the apartments/buildings during each assigned shift to monitor housekeeping and general cleanliness. Document findings and provide residents with corrective guidance when necessary. Facility Responsibilities Inspect the playground area to ensure the wicker chair cushions are properly stored under the playground pavilion after use. Assist residents who have locked themselves out of their building, room or apartment by providing the resident a key to enter. Transportation Responsibilities Transport residents to Diaper Row every other month on the first Saturday, as scheduled. Perform additional transportation duties as assigned to meet the operational needs of the Transitional Housing Programs. Work Schedule Work hours will vary based on the transportation, inspection, and needs of the programs and may include evening and weekend assignments.
