Position Summary The Housekeeper works under the direction of the Environmental Services Manager to maintain the facility, resident rooms, and common areas in a clean, safe, welcoming, and homelike condition. This position plays an important role in promoting the health, safety, comfort, and well-being of residents, staff, and visitors. In addition to housekeeping duties, the Housekeeper performs laundry services to ensure residents receive clean linens and personal items in a timely and organized manner. Key Responsibilities Clean and maintain resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and common areas according to facility policies and procedures. Perform routine floor care, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and spot cleaning. Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces to promote a safe and hygienic environment. Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident laundry and facility linens. Handle laundry according to infection control and safety guidelines. Remove trash and replace liners in designated areas. Maintain cleaning and laundry equipment and promptly report maintenance or repair needs to the Environmental Services Manager. Follow all safety guidelines, infection control protocols, and facility standards. Maintain a professional, respectful, and resident-centered approach when interacting with residents, families, visitors, and staff. Help maintain a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents. Requirements Successful completion of the following is required: Background screening, including reference check and drug testing Fingerprint Clearance Card TB clearance Employee health screening, conducted after hire Additional Requirements Ability to lift, move, and transfer up to 50 pounds. Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English. Ability to follow safety procedures and infection control practices. Ability to work respectfully and professionally around residents in a long-term care environment.
