The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms, public areas, and assigned sections of the hotel to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, comfort, and presentation. This position works closely with fellow housekeeping team members, maintenance, front desk, and leadership to provide exceptional service and create a positive experience for both guests and coworkers. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and public areas using appropriate cleaning techniques and equipment. Handle various chemical agents safely, adhering to safety data sheets (SDS) and hotel protocols for chemical handling and sanitation. Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and mops to maintain spotless floors and surfaces. Conduct manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of furniture or supplies while following proper safety procedures. Ensure all cleaning tasks meet hotel standards for hygiene, safety, and presentation. Respond promptly to guest requests for additional housekeeping services or amenities with excellent customer service skills. Follow hotel emergency procedures and safety guidelines to maintain a secure environment for staff and guests. Maintain cleanliness logs, report maintenance issues, and ensure all custodial activities comply with health regulations. Assist in managing housekeeping supplies inventory and ensure proper storage of cleaning equipment. Support team members in maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols at all times. Qualifications Previous experience in hotel housekeeping or janitorial roles is highly preferred. Knowledge of floor cleaning techniques, sanitation practices, and the use of cleaning equipment. Ability to handle chemical agents safely while following SDS guidelines for chemical handling. Strong manual handling skills including heavy lifting and physical endurance for extended periods of standing or walking. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards guests and team members. Familiarity with hotel emergency procedures and safety protocols is advantageous.
