Job Description
Job Summary:
Under general supervision performs work of moderate difficulty during the Graham County Fair as the money room attendant responsible for preparing and reporting on the cash received at the fair. Attendants must have the ability to work a variable schedule, typically before start of the event and after the conclusion of the event. In addition to possessing strong numerical skills, the attendant must have the ability to work independently, be trustworthy, detail orientated, with respect to the department's cash handling procedures.Reports to:
Parks & Fairgrounds Director, Chief Financial Officer, Parks & Fairgrounds Clerk, and/orLead Seasonal Fair Worker Staff Manager Essential Job Functions:
- Handling, counting, and verifying cash.
- Prepare cash reports.
- Balance cash reports, operate counting machines, follow strict protocols to prevent loss or theft.
- Reconciles discrepancies.
- Prepare reconciliations in compliance with State Fair audit requirements.
- Secure and protect monies at all times.
- Must be reliable and maintain excellent attendance.
- Performs related work as required or assigned.
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to:- Calculate basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) as they relate to cash handling and reconciliation.
- Make decisions in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.
- Handle public relation problems courteously and tactfully.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Follow oral and written instructions.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. Prior cash handling and counting experience preferred. Accounting/financial procedure experience can be substituted for cash handling. Possession of a valid Arizona driver's license with a history of safe driving and the ability to maintain a safe driving recordWorking Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Work long hours in varied weather conditions.
- Prolonged periods of standing and/or sitting.
- Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
