58/hour Kern River Transitional Care Center is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Part-Time Housekeeper to join our team. This position plays an important role in maintaining a safe, clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. Why Join Us? Essential Duties & Responsibilities Maintain cleanliness of public and common areas throughout the day, including lobby, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors Clean and maintain resident rooms and bathrooms Clean handrails and ensure they are free of debris Remove dust, dirt, and food from walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and dispensers Empty trash cans and replace liners Sweep, mop, and maintain floors Use proper safety measures when cleaning, including caution signage and safe chemical storage Keep supplies and chemicals out of reach of residents Use housekeeping supplies and equipment safely and according to instructions Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas in a clean, safe, and orderly manner Notify the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing immediately regarding resident safety concerns Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need to be replenished Provide excellent customer service with a positive attitude Manage time effectively and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner Work independently and as part of a team Supervisory Requirements This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required Previous housekeeping or long-term care facility experience preferred Skills & Abilities Ability to read and understand procedures, instruction manuals, and directions Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division Ability to solve practical problems and seek assistance when needed Strong time-management skills Excellent customer service skills and positive attitude Ability to work independently or with a team Fluent in written and spoken English Physical Demands Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds Regular sitting, kneeling, standing, walking, talking, reading, and hearing Daily use of housekeeping supplies and equipment Some use of office-related equipment, including copier, scanner, fax, telephone, and calculator May assist during emergency situations as needed Work Environment The work environment is representative of a long-term care facility setting.
