In this vital role, you will be the cornerstone of maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Your efforts will directly contribute to infection prevention, patient comfort, and the overall quality of life within our healthcare facility. This position offers an energizing opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day through diligent cleaning, sanitation, and environmental services. Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms, common areas, hallways, restrooms, and treatment spaces in accordance with healthcare sanitation standards. Handle laundry duties including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and clothing while adhering to infection control protocols. Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, steam cleaners, and other janitorial tools safely and effectively. Manage chemical agents responsibly by handling cleaning chemicals according to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines and safety protocols to prevent accidents or contamination. Follow safe manual handling practices for heavy lifting tasks involving furniture, supplies, or waste disposal to prevent injury. Maintain compliance with healthcare infection prevention and control standards by adhering to sanitation procedures and safety protocols. Respond promptly to environmental service needs across the facility ensuring a hygienic environment that supports patient health and safety. Ensure proper disposal of waste materials in accordance with environmental services regulations and facility policies. Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with residents, staff, visitors, and other healthcare personnel while maintaining a positive attitude. Requirements Proven experience in healthcare facilities housekeeping or janitorial roles with a focus on sanitation and environmental services. Knowledge of OSHA standards related to chemical handling, safe lifting practices, and workplace safety protocols. Familiarity with cleaning techniques specific to healthcare environments including floor care and sanitation procedures. Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently while following safety guidelines. Strong understanding of infection prevention measures within healthcare settings. Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking throughout shifts. Excellent customer service skills with a professional demeanor when interacting with residents and staff. Prior experience with laundry operations is preferred but not required; training will be provided for specific facility procedures.
