The Houseman plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the hotel environment. Duties Perform comprehensive floor cleaning using appropriate equipment such as vacuums, mops, and buffers to maintain pristine floor conditions. Handle cleaning tasks across various areas including guest rooms, hallways, public spaces, and service areas with attention to detail. Safely manage chemical agents used for cleaning and sanitation, adhering to safety data sheets (SDS) and proper handling procedures. Assist with heavy lifting and manual handling of supplies, furniture, or equipment to support housekeeping operations. Maintain cleanliness of hotel public spaces by dusting, vacuuming, and ensuring sanitation standards are met consistently. Operate cleaning equipment efficiently while following safety protocols to prevent accidents or damage. Support hotel housekeeping management by replenishing supplies, reporting maintenance issues, and ensuring compliance with hotel emergency procedures. Follow established sanitation protocols to uphold health standards and ensure guest safety at all times. Engage professionally with guests and team members to deliver excellent customer service and foster a welcoming environment. Experience Previous custodial or janitorial experience within a hotel or hospitality environment is highly preferred. Knowledge of industrial cleaning techniques and hotel housekeeping management practices. Familiarity with chemical handling, safety data sheets (SDS), and proper use of cleaning equipment. Experience in hotel emergency procedures and sanitation standards is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a hospitality setting. Strong understanding of floor care techniques including vacuuming, mopping, and polishing surfaces. Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently or as part of a team while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
