Hotel Laundry Attendant / Houseman The Laundry Attendant/Houseman is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming hotel environment by performing laundry operations and supporting the housekeeping department. This position ensures linens and guest laundry are cleaned and distributed efficiently while assisting with public area cleanliness, room supplies, and housekeeping operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and organize hotel linens, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry. Operate commercial washers, dryers, and laundry equipment safely and efficiently. Inspect linens for stains, damage, or excessive wear and report items requiring replacement. Maintain appropriate inventory levels of clean linens and towels. Follow proper chemical handling and laundry procedures. Keep the laundry room clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards. Deliver clean linens to designated storage areas and housekeeping carts. Assist room attendants by stocking housekeeping carts with linens, towels, and guest amenities. Deliver requested items to guest rooms, including towels, blankets, pillows, cribs, and rollaway beds. Clean and maintain public areas such as lobbies, hallways, elevators, restrooms, stairwells, and employee areas. Remove trash, recyclables, and soiled linens from guest floors and service areas. Respond promptly to housekeeping and guest service requests. Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or lost and found items to management. Assist with room inspections and special cleaning projects as assigned. Help maintain storage rooms in a clean, organized, and well-stocked condition. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous hotel housekeeping or laundry experience is preferred but not required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Good communication and customer service skills. Reliable, punctual, and able to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 30-40 pounds. Bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the workday.
