Duties Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, including dusting, vacuuming, changing linens, and sanitizing bathrooms using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents. Handle chemical agents safely by following safety data sheets (SDS) guidelines and proper chemical handling procedures to ensure a safe environment for yourself and colleagues. Conduct floor care activities such as mopping, sweeping, buffing, and polishing to maintain high standards of cleanliness in all areas. Utilize janitorial equipment effectively, including vacuums, floor buffers, and cleaning carts, ensuring all tools are maintained in excellent condition. Follow hotel emergency procedures diligently during any incident or safety concern to protect guests and staff alike. Assist with heavy lifting tasks when necessary, ensuring proper manual handling techniques are used to prevent injury. Provide friendly customer service by responding promptly to guest requests and inquiries with professionalism and enthusiasm. Experience Prior custodial or janitorial experience in a hospitality or industrial setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate. Familiarity with hotel housekeeping management practices and sanitation standards is advantageous. Experience handling cleaning chemicals safely and knowledge of safety data sheets (SDS) is highly desirable. Knowledge of hotel emergency procedures ensures preparedness for any unforeseen situations. Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently is important for this role. Previous experience with cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, or industrial cleaning tools will support your success in this position.
