Full Job Description SUMMARY:
Consistently meets or exceeds hotel standards for guest service and cleanliness by performing daily housekeeping services and tasks in guestrooms and public areas throughout the hotel property. Responds to guest requests and performs minor and routine maintenance tasks as assigned. Is familiar with and complies with the Inns of Monterey Mission standards and philosophy in performing all key areas of accountability and other essential duties and responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Responds to guest requests quickly and courteously as assigned by front desk. Maintains cleanliness of all hotel's public areas. Acts as a team player and liaison between housekeeping, front desk and guests. Performs all duties in a safe manner as outlined in the codes of safe practice and reports all accidents to supervisor immediately regardless of severity. Always maintains safety and security of guests. Adheres to key control policy and procedure according to set standards. Sets up and maintains afternoon guest receptions (responsibilities vary by hotel). Prepares and delivers package and VIP amenities such as fruit baskets, champagne, etc. Moves and arranges furniture. Turn mattresses. Hangs draperies. Dusts blinds. Keeps storage areas neat and organized. Polishes metalwork. Polishes furniture and fixtures. Cleans and polishes elevators. Prepares show rooms, meeting rooms, and public areas for site inspections. Sets up decorations, apparatus, or furniture and equipment for meetings, banquets, and social functions. Maintains cleanliness of meeting rooms and provides service to in-house groups as assigned. Collects soiled linens for laundering, receives and stocks linen supplies in linen closet. Restocks housekeeping carts. Checks all rooms and reports damages, lost items, or anything unusual or suspicious. Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms, offices and other work areas. Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes designated floors. Cleans rugs, carpets (includes regular hosting of room and hallway carpets), upholstered furniture, and draperies. Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork. Washes windows, door panels, and sills. Empties wastebaskets and empties and cleans ashtrays. Transports trash and waste to disposal area. Replenishes bathroom supplies. Replaces light bulbs. Delivers television sets, ironing boards, baby cribs, and rollaway beds to guests' rooms as directed. Cleans and removes debris from driveway and garage areas. Cleans any rooms, as needed. Cleans Fireplaces and atrium as required. (Varies by hotel)
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge resort/hotel service standards, guest relations and etiquette. Excellent communication, verbal, written, customer service and organizational skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with employees and guests Ability to multi-task, manage interruptions, establish work priorities, handle stress, and effectively function in a fast-paced environment
Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
