JOB SUMMARY

Almond Grove Assisted Living prides itself on providing a clean, neat, safe, and well-maintained environment for our residents, families, and staff. We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and flexible Facilities & Housekeeping Technician who is willing to assist in multiple areas of the facility. This is a hands-on position that combines housekeeping, carpet cleaning, room preparation, basic maintenance, and general facility upkeep. The right candidate will take pride in their work and be willing to help wherever needed to ensure Almond Grove remains clean, comfortable, functional, and welcoming.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Housekeeping and Cleaning Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, offices, hallways, and other assigned areas. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect floors. Perform carpet cleaning, shampooing, spot treatment, and deodorizing. Clean windows, mirrors, fixtures, furniture, walls, doors, and other surfaces. Empty trash, replace liners, and properly dispose of waste. Complete deep cleaning assignments as needed. Prepare and clean vacant rooms for new residents. Maintain housekeeping carts, cleaning equipment, supply closets, and work areas. Follow infection-control procedures and safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment. Facility Maintenance and Upkeep Perform basic facility maintenance and minor repairs as assigned. Assist with moving furniture, mattresses, equipment, supplies, and resident belongings. Help prepare rooms for resident move-ins, move-outs, and room changes. Replace light bulbs and complete minor painting, wall patching, touch-ups, and general repairs. Assist with facility improvement projects and preventative maintenance. Inspect assigned areas and report damaged equipment, plumbing concerns, electrical concerns, safety hazards, or other needed repairs. Respond to assigned work orders and communicate completed or unresolved items to the supervisor. Keep tools, equipment, maintenance rooms, and storage areas clean and organized. Assist the Maintenance Director and other departments with projects as requested. Refer specialized repairs or work requiring a licensed professional to the Maintenance Director. Resident Care and Safety Treat all residents with dignity, patience, and respect. Knock before entering resident rooms and respect residents' privacy and personal belongings. Coordinate work with care staff when cleaning or completing repairs in occupied resident areas. Follow all facility safety, fire, emergency, infection-control, and confidentiality policies. Use required personal protective equipment and place caution signs when cleaning floors or creating temporary hazards. Report accidents, injuries, unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or resident concerns immediately. Maintain resident confidentiality and protect all resident information. Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment throughout the facility.

QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial services, carpet cleaning, construction, facilities, or general maintenance is preferred. Basic knowledge of hand tools and minor building repairs is preferred. Must be dependable, organized, and able to manage assigned tasks independently. Must be flexible and willing to assist with both housekeeping and maintenance responsibilities. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions. Must communicate professionally and respectfully with residents, families, visitors, and coworkers. Must be comfortable working around elderly, disabled, or cognitively impaired residents. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to successfully complete a Live Scan background check. Must meet all health and training requirements established by the facility. Must be able to reliably commute to Orangevale, CA.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to bend, kneel, reach, climb, push, pull, and perform repetitive cleaning and maintenance tasks. Ability to safely lift and carry at least 40 pounds independently. Ability to assist with heavier furniture, equipment, and supplies using proper equipment or team-lifting procedures. Ability to operate carpet-cleaning machines, vacuums, floor equipment, and basic hand tools. May be required to assist during emergency situations or facility evacuations.

Pay:

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
