Job Description

Position Summary:
Performs any combination of the following tasks to maintain guestrooms, common areas, meeting spaces, restrooms, dining area, chapel and other Trinity Retreat Center premises in general in a clean and orderly manner. Demonstrates a professional, friendly, warm and welcoming demeanor to all guests and employees. The Housekeeping Attendant will report to the Director of the Trinity Retreat Center. The pay rate for this role is $22 an hour.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Cleans rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom and carpet shampoo machine. Cleans guest rooms as needed. Washes walls, trim, and windows. Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes. vacuums and polishes floor. Dusts and polishes stairwells and picture frames. Collects soiled linen for laundering from housekeeping carts. Assists in keeping the lobby area clean, neat and free of debris and trash as needed. Receives linen supplies from laundry and stocks linen closets on guest floors in a neat, organized manner. Strips soiled linen from beds when asked to help housekeepers. Removes trash collected by room attendants. Walks all assigned floors at beginning, throughout the day and end of shift to collect trash, soiled linen and other items as assigned by management. Transports clean linen to the housekeeping storage rooms on the floors and refills the par stock of linen on each floor Helps the housekeepers with heavy lifting and special cleaning projects as directed. Cleans all common areas including restrooms in the prescribed manner while following department standard operating procedures. Assists in housekeeping with placing beds, roll-ways beds, extra bed etc. in appropriate fashion per standard operating procedures. Reports missing / found articles, damage or merchandise problems to the Director and Housekeeping Supervisor. Responds at all times in a friendly, helpful manner to guests and other colleagues.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Activities:
Physical mobility and stamina required, must be able to follow instructions, possess detailed orientation skills and demonstrate a professional attitude. The candidate must have the ability to work independently. Must be flexible and available evenings, weekends and holidays. Requires standing for long periods of time and on occasion may be asked to lift and carry up to 40 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, it may be also required to stoop, climb, kneel, crouch, bend or crawl.
Required and Preferred Education, Experience, and Credentials:
1-2 years' experience working in Housekeeping and Hospitality is preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
