This includes cleaning resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, offices, and other facility spaces in accordance with infection control standards, safety protocols, and facility procedures. The Housekeeping Aide plays an essential role in creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities Daily Cleaning Duties Clean and disinfect resident rooms, bathrooms, and shared areas using approved cleaning products. Dust, vacuum, mop, and sweep floors in resident rooms, hallways, and common areas. Empty trash receptacles and replace liners. Clean windows, mirrors, light fixtures, and furnishings as assigned. Infection Control & Safety Follow all infection prevention and control policies, including proper use of PPE. Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to manufacturer guidelines. Report safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or needed repairs to the supervisor immediately. Handle soiled linens and waste in compliance with sanitation guidelines. Resident-Centered Care Respect residents' privacy, personal property, and comfort while performing duties in their rooms. Greet residents and visitors courteously and respond promptly to cleaning requests. Report any concerns regarding residents' health or well-being to nursing staff as appropriate. Teamwork & Communication Coordinate daily assignments and priorities with the housekeeping supervisor. Work cooperatively with other departments, including nursing, dietary, and maintenance. Attend in-service training sessions, staff meetings, and mandatory educational programs. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous housekeeping experience in healthcare or long-term care preferred but not required. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, infection control practices, and proper chemical handling. Ability to follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and work independently or as part of a team.
