Position Summary The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for supporting the Chief Maintenance Engineer in maintaining the safety, cleanliness, appearance, and functionality of all club facilities. This position combines general maintenance duties with housekeeping responsibilities to ensure the club provides exceptional experience for members, guests, and employees. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. This individual must be able to work independently, prioritize tasks, communicate effectively, and contribute positively as a member of the Windstar team.
Responsibilities:
Perform thorough cleaning and servicing of public areas, dining rooms, offices, restrooms, locker rooms, and other club facilities. Maintain cleanliness and presentation of all assigned areas to the club's high standards. Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, sanitize, and polish surfaces as required. Restock restroom and housekeeping supplies. Dispose of trash and recycling in designated areas. Identify and report maintenance issues observed while cleaning. Assist in maintaining an attractive, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the property. Assist the Facilities Director with daily maintenance operations. Perform minor repairs to equipment, fixtures, and furnishings. Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition. Assist with special projects, furniture moves, and event setup. Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies. Follow all safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Qualifications Previous experience in building maintenance, housekeeping, hospitality, facilities, or a related field preferred. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and quality. Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, cleaning equipment, and maintenance equipment. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Dependable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
