Job Description
The Assisted Living Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for residents, families, guests, and staff. This position performs routine cleaning and disinfecting throughout the assisted living community, including resident apartments, common areas, restrooms, offices, hallways, and other assigned areas. The Housekeeper is expected to treat all residents with dignity, respect, kindness, and professionalism while providing excellent customer service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clean and disinfect resident apartments and assigned areas according to the community's housekeeping schedule. Clean bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchens, floors, windows, furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces as assigned. Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and sanitize floors and surfaces. Empty trash and replace liners throughout assigned areas. Clean and maintain common areas, hallways, lounges, dining areas, activity spaces, and public restrooms. Follow proper infection-control, sanitation, and chemical-handling procedures. Use cleaning products and equipment safely and according to manufacturer instructions. Maintain housekeeping carts, closets, equipment, and supplies in an organized and sanitary manner. Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, spills, damaged equipment, pest concerns, or unusual conditions to the appropriate supervisor. Assist with deep cleaning and special cleaning projects as assigned. Follow established schedules and complete assigned duties within the required timeframe. Respect resident belongings and maintain resident privacy and confidentiality. Knock and announce yourself before entering resident apartments and respect residents' personal space. Communicate respectfully with residents, families, visitors, and coworkers. Follow all community policies, procedures, safety requirements, and applicable assisted living regulations. Attend required meetings and training. Assist with emergency preparedness, fire drills, and other community safety procedures as directed. Maintain a professional appearance and wear the required uniform and appropriate footwear. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Resident Care & Customer Service Expectations Although this is a housekeeping position, the Housekeeper is an important part of the resident care team.
