Role:
The Housekeeper at Larkin Community Hospital (LCH) plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This position ensures that all assigned areas, including patient rooms, hallways, and common spaces, meet the hospital's high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. The Housekeeper's work directly contributes to infection control and overall patient satisfaction by preventing the spread of germs and creating a welcoming atmosphere. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Ultimately, the Housekeeper supports the hospital's mission by fostering a healthy environment that promotes healing and well-being.
Minimum Qualifications:
Demonstrated manual dexterity and physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including reaching overhead and floor care. Capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Previous experience in housekeeping or custodial work, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with healthcare infection control standards and protocols. Experience using specialized cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and buffers. Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities:
Perform thorough cleaning and sanitization of patient rooms, restrooms, waiting areas, and other hospital spaces according to established protocols. Follow oral and written instructions to complete daily cleaning schedules and respond promptly to urgent cleaning requests. Adhere to infection control policies and safety standards to protect patients, staff, and self from potential hazards.
