Full-time Job Summary:
As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of the community for the benefit of the residents, their family members, visitors, and employees. Your duties will involve cleaning shared areas and residents' apartments as per the schedule, thus ensuring a sanitary and welcoming environment. Qualifications:
At least one year of housekeeping experience is preferred. The ability to read, write, and speak English is required. An inclination to work with older adults and a friendly, compassionate demeanor are desired. You must be at least 18 years old and have a clean criminal record. A physical examination by a physician is necessary. You must also have a negative drug test. Understanding the risk of exposure to infectious waste, diseases, chemicals, solutions, and disinfectants is essential. The capacity to respond promptly in an emergency situation is crucial.
Primary Responsibilities:
Regularly clean all shared areas, including guest bathrooms. Tasks include, but are not limited to: o Vacuuming carpeted areas. o Dusting furniture, shared area items, handrails, and hanging pictures. o Cleaning glass surfaces. o Removing fingerprints or other dirt from doors, doorways, and walls. o Vacuuming upholstered furniture as per schedule. o Cleaning and disinfecting shared areas and public bathrooms. o Mopping shared areas and bathroom floors. o Regular cleaning and disinfection of soiled utility bins. o Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of laundry areas and storage closets. Clean residents' rooms/apartments on a scheduled basis, which includes tasks like: o Vacuuming carpeted areas. o Dusting furniture. o Cleaning and disinfecting the bathroom. Respond to resident emergencies in line with appropriate policy and procedure. Respect resident choice, dignity, and individuality while providing quality service, in line with the Prema philosophy of Person-Centered Lifestyle and resident rights. Protect the confidentiality of residents. In your initial year of employment, secure 24 hours of continuing education, and 16 hours annually thereafter. Maintain CPR & First Aid certification. Inform the Maintenance Director about any supply needs. Perform any other duties as assigned. Adhere to infection control policies and established safety precautions. Ensure the housekeeping cart and other supplies are locked, secured, and safely stored to prevent injuries. Maintain a clean and organized closet. Properly store, lock, and label hazardous cleaning products. Report any unsafe conditions and equipment to the Executive Director. Dispose of soiled clothing or linens in line with infection control standards. Report changes in residents' conditions and emergency situations to the Shift Supervisor. Attend all staff meetings and mandatory in-service training sessions. Possess effective communication skills to relay information to residents, Shift Supervisor, and Management. Review all communication tools daily that are used in providing resident care. Discuss residents' needs with the Executive Director. If you observe a change in a resident's condition, notify your supervisor or the Wellness Director. Respond to on-the-job injuries following the community's policies and procedures. If residents' family members present any concerns or questions, inform your supervisor. Other primary responsibilities exists that may not be listed in this job description as will be requested and directed by the Maintenance Director and/or the Executive Director.
Physical Job Demands and Requirements:
Assist in the transfer of residents, adhering to proper body mechanics and safety measures. Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds. Frequently kneel, bend, and reach. Sit for up to two hours a day. Frequently support up to 70 pounds.
