Maintain cleanliness of public areas such as lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and dining spaces by sweeping, mopping, sanitizing surfaces, and ensuring all spaces meet sanitation standards. Handle cleaning equipment and chemical agents safely by following proper procedures outlined in Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and hotel protocols. Use appropriate cleaning techniques for different surfaces and floors, including floor care methods such as stripping, sealing, waxing, and polishing when necessary. Assist with heavy lifting tasks involving cleaning supplies or furniture moving while adhering to manual handling safety guidelines. Follow hotel emergency procedures in case of incidents or safety concerns to ensure guest and staff safety at all times. Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly. Qualifications Proven custodial or janitorial experience with a strong background in hotel housekeeping management or similar hospitality environments. Knowledge of floor cleaning techniques including vacuuming, floor care, and the use of cleaning equipment. Ability to handle chemical agents safely while performing sanitation tasks; familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) is preferred. Physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive cleaning tasks efficiently. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards guests and team members. Familiarity with hotel emergency procedures and safety protocols to respond appropriately in urgent situations. Prior hotel experience is highly desirable; previous janitorial or custodial experience will be considered an asset.
