HOTEL HOUSEMAN
CEDAR
RAPIDS, IA
$14.00 - $15.00 per hour Houseman/Clubhost This is a dual role position.
Minimum age:
21 years
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Require a valid drivers license, proof of insurability and good driving record.
Clubhost:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Meet and greet hotel guests and answer questions and inquiries.
  • Puts away weekly delivery of supplies and rotates stock.
  • Re-stocks food and beverage items on hotel bar as guests deplete them and put away food and supplies at end of meal period.
  • Washes dishes and food trays.
  • Cleans microwaves.
  • Clears and wipes counters and tables, places centerpieces on tables and removes salt/pepper shakers.
  • Fills coffee pots before leaving.
  • Fills hot water dispenser and electric steamers to prepare for the next day.
  • Disposes of trash and wipes down trash cans.
  • Breaks down cardboard boxes and carries out to the trash/recycling receptacle
  • Vacuums and mops dining area and pantry.
  • Organizes pantry.
  • Completes hotel pantrymunication log for other shifts and hotel employees to review.
  • Communicates inventory shortages, maintenance issues, or guestplaints to managers.
  • Assists with cleaning of public restrooms, pool area, fitness center, main lobby, sleeping rooms or laundry or special cleaning projects as requested.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Loads, unloads and delivers guest baggage in a courteous, helpful manner. Delivers messages and requested supplies to hotel guestrooms in a friendly and courteous manner to ensure guest satisfaction. Assists in the security of the property including hotel guests, employees, equipment and vehicles. Cuts and trims grass and shovels snow. Assists front desk by answering phones, delivering guest items (pillow, blankets, roll aways, etc), and providing guest service support. Provides breaks for front desk as needed. Assists in keeping the parking lot clean and free of hazards. Transports small equipment or tools between departments. Transports customers as requested usingpany vehicles and obeying traffic laws. Assists in setting up and cleaning up tables and chairs in banquet and meeting rooms. May clean rooms or public areas as needed, including emptying wastebaskets and ashtrays and transporting trash and waste to disposal area, replenishing supplies in restrooms, delivering linen and replacing light bulbs.

 Responsible for following all KHC policies and procedures as set forth in the KHC handbook and property specific guidelines/standards. These policies include dress code, safety and performance standards. Employees must also maintain a professional image and report to work as scheduled.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
 The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. All employees must follow proper safety precautions at all times to avoid injuries. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, bend or twist; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle, grasp or type; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and to push, pull or lift over 10 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
