This cross-trained role splits the week between two jobs: two mornings running the complimentary hot breakfast, and the remaining shifts cleaning guest rooms and public areas. You'll help guests start their day well and make sure every room is ready when they return from the lake or the slopes. Strong attention to detail, food safety awareness, and a friendly attitude are key. Housekeeping responsibilities Clean and service assigned guest rooms (stayovers and checkouts) to Best Western brand standards within the target time per room Make beds, change linens, clean and sanitize bathrooms, dust, vacuum, and empty trash Restock amenities, towels, coffee supplies, and paper goods Clean public areas, including the lobby, hallways, fitness room, pool area, and public restrooms Report maintenance issues, damages, and safety hazards promptly through the work-order process Turn in lost-and-found items and follow guest privacy and key-control procedures Keep housekeeping carts stocked, organized, and clean Use and store cleaning chemicals safely according to SDS and labeling Help with laundry: sorting, washing, drying, folding, and stocking linens as needed Communicate room status to the front desk accurately and on time Breakfast responsibilities (two mornings per week) Arrive early to set up the breakfast area before service opens at 6:30 am. Prepare and cook hot items such as eggs, meats, and waffle batter following recipes and brand standards Stock and refill cereals, pastries, fruit, yogurt, juices, coffee, and condiments throughout service Monitor food temperatures and record them on temperature logs; follow FIFO rotation and date labeling Keep the buffet, tables, and dining area clean, sanitized, and well presented Greet guests warmly, answer questions, and handle requests or special dietary needs politely Wash dishes and utensils, clean kitchen equipment, and break down the area after service Track supply levels and report items to reorder Follow all Idaho food code and health department sanitation requirements Qualifications and physical requirements Required Prior housekeeping, cleaning, or food service experience preferred, but we will train the right person Idaho food handler certification, or the ability to obtain it within 30 days of hire Reliable transportation and the ability to arrive for early breakfast shifts, including in winter conditions Availability on weekends and holidays Ability to follow written checklists and brand standards Friendly, guest-focused attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team Physical requirements Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for an entire shift Push housekeeping carts and lift up to 30 lbs (linens, supplies, food boxes) regularly Work around hot surfaces, cooking equipment, and cleaning chemicals with the proper PPE Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.
