Job description:
Housekeepers perform any combination of light cleaning duties to maintain the residential units, common areas, and offices in a clean and orderly manner. Specific duties may include but are not limited to: vacuuming floors and upholstered furnishings; mopping hard surface floors; cleaning, dusting and polishing furniture; cleaning walls and windows; cleaning and disinfecting bathroom and kitchen fixtures; emptying and sanitizing waste baskets. Housekeepers will help with laundry services on an as-needed basis.Principal Responsibilities:
- Empty trash daily in assigned offices and common areas; fully clean offices and common areas according to weekly schedule
- Provide weekly housekeeping services to assigned apartment units, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and cleaning fixtures and hard surfaces according to approved procedures. For residents who are unable, change bed linens and gather laundry for laundry service
- Clean, mop, scrub, sweep, or vacuum floors in community rooms, stairways, and halls. Spot clean upholstered furniture and walls as needed
- Promptly respond to calls for emergency clean-up of major spills, resident accidents, and overflows
- Maintain vacuums, carts, and other equipment in a clean and serviceable condition, promptly reporting repair needs
- Record supply inventory and inform supervisor when cleaning supplies are low
- Perform terminal cleaning of vacated apartments and special projects as requested by supervisor
- Observe all establish company policies and procedures
- Maintain strictest confidentiality standards of all resident medical and personal information
- Treat all residents, guests, and staff in a friendly personable and professional manner
- Report repairs needed to supervisor
- Follow all universal precautions and blood borne pathogen procedures; and use personal protective equipment as needed while cleaning residential areas
- Perform other duties as assigned
