IU Hospitality infuses Indiana University's beautiful campus with vibrant life, creating a home away from home for visitors and the IU community alike. From our space in the Indiana Memorial Union, hospitality staff serve thousands of guests each year through professional dining and retail operations and catered events, conferences, and celebrations, keeping our spaces clean, our food tasty, and our customers happy. The 189 room IU Biddle Hotel is the largest hotel in Bloomington, Indiana, the only hotel on campus, and a living embodiment of Hoosier hospitality. Visitors enjoy upscale, convenient accommodations and parking as well as on-site amenities including the Vault Pub, live music, bowling, Starbucks, a 2-level bookstore, charming outdoor dining spaces, and international food from local restaurants - all in the heart of campus, steps away from the best dining, shopping, arts, and entertainment at IU and in the city of Bloomington. Job Summary Performs tasks related to the cleanliness and upkeep of IU Hotel guest rooms and/or campus residential and guest spaces. May perform occasional duties in support of other needs, such as laundry or general maintenance. Cleans and prepares hotel rooms for both arriving guests and for intermediate in-stay service for existing guests daily. Ensures all furnishings in each guest rooms are free of evidence of a previous guest and that all items are in working order and ready for new guests daily and meets the Biddle standard of guest room inspection. Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)

WORK EXPERIENCE

Preferred Some housekeeping, custodial, or related field experience SKILLS Required Proficient communication skills Maintains a high degree of professionalism Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills Demonstrates a high commitment to quality Possesses flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment Highly thorough and dependable Working Conditions / Demands This role regularly requires the ability to effectively communicate. This role frequently requires the ability to handle equipment. This role frequently requires the ability to remain stationary and ascend/descend ladders/stairs. This role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 30 pounds. The role requires the ability to detect items in proximity as well as far away; discern between colors; detect objects in peripheral space of self; discern items in detail; and to have good depth perception. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation. Work Location Bloomington, Indiana IMU Biddle Hotel Advertised Salary $13.10 per hour Work Hours Weekday and weekend hours. Work hours depend on hotel occupancy but do require weekends and some holidays. This position is capped up to 29 hours per week.
