Tool Room Attendant (Night Shift)

Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Tool Room Attendant to join our team during the night shift. This vital role ensures the efficient management, organization, and maintenance of tools, equipment, and materials within our tool room. The ideal candidate will play a key part in supporting our manufacturing and warehouse operations by maintaining accurate inventory levels, facilitating smooth procurement processes, and ensuring all tools are readily available for production needs. Duties Manage the inventory of tools, materials, and supplies using warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP systems like SAP or AS400 to ensure accuracy and availability. Conduct regular stock counts, data collection, and analysis to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions through root cause analysis. Coordinate with procurement teams to facilitate sourcing, purchasing, and negotiations for tool replenishment and materials procurement. Oversee shipping & receiving processes, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with logistics standards. Support process improvements by analyzing data analytics, demand planning, and supply chain analytics to optimize stocking strategies. Operate forklifts and handle heavy lifting tasks safely while managing materials handling activities within the warehouse. Collaborate with supplier management teams to maintain strong supplier relationships, manage contracts, and oversee inventory control measures. Utilize data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau for reporting on inventory levels, procurement status, and process efficiencies. Assist in production planning by providing timely access to tools and materials needed for manufacturing schedules. Maintain safety standards through regular inspections, compliance checks, and adherence to warehouse procedures. Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse management, inventory control, or materials handling within a manufacturing or distribution environment. Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles including demand planning, logistics, procurement, and category management. Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms like SAP or

AS400, SQL

databases, and data analysis tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Demonstrated skills in data mining, data collection, root cause analysis, and process improvement methodologies. Ability to operate forklifts safely; forklift certification is preferred. Excellent analytical skills with a focus on supply chain analytics, financial analysis, pricing strategies, and sourcing activities. Effective negotiation skills for procurement activities coupled with supplier management experience. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely during materials handling activities. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management and order fulfillment processes. Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures along with familiarity with 3PL (third-party logistics) providers is advantageous.
