Job Description

Hours:
Monday through Friday, from 6 to 2:30. The Housekeepers will be under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Manager. The cleaner is to comply with all established procedures. The housekeeper is responsible for the custodial duties which ensure overall cleanliness and upkeep of the building and grounds. He/she is to provide the physical services necessary to maintain the building in accordance with the specifications of the Maintenance Manager as established by the Board of Directors. He is expected to exercise initiative and notice and report problems which occur in order to further the general upkeep and appearance of the building. In addition, any cleaning tasks requested by the Site Manager or Maintenance Manager will be performed.
DAILY TASKS 1.
Vacuum, mop or dust floors. 2. Pick up any paper or debris. This should be checked at least twice a day, once at the start of the daytime shift and again at the end of the daytime shift. 3. Empty waste receptacles and change plastic liners when necessary. 4. Gym equipment wiped with disinfectant daily. 5. Refill empty sanitizing wipe containers. 6. Replace drinking water containers if needed. 7. High and lower areas will be checked for cobwebs. 8. Disinfect all high touch areas. 1. Clean all mirrors and hand basins. 2. Clean and sanitize countertops. 3. Thoroughly clean urinals, toilets, toilet seats and sanitary napkin receptacles with an approved disinfectant solution. 4. Toilet bowl brush will be used on toilet bowls, and care shall be given to clean flush holes under the rim of bowls and passage traps. 5. Damp wipe with disinfectant, where necessary, walls and partitions to keep free of handprints and dust. 6. Replenish all restroom consumable items. 7. Damp mop floor with an approved disinfectant solution. Use appropriate caution signage while performing this task. 8. Empty trash receptacles, replacing liners as necessary. 9. Remove and replace waxed sanitary napkin disposal bags. 10.Clean and disinfect all restroom walls/partitions and wastepaper receptacles. 1. Clean trash chute rooms. Wipe off trash room doors and handles. Deodorize trash chute daily. Clean trash room chute floors. Remove debris. 2. Vacuum all hallway carpets. 3. Mop and/or vacuum elevator floors (especially the metal threshold) at least once daily or more frequently if needed. Wipe off spots on walls. 4. Clean mailroom tile floors.
WEEKLY TASKS 1.
Clean windows inside and outside for all common areas: lobby, café, fitness center, offices, conference room. 2. Dust, clean and/or polish front desk and office furniture. 3. Wipe down stairwell doors. 4. Wipe clean baseboards. 5. Report carpet spots to Maintenance Manager. Spots should not remain on the carpet for more than one day after the spot is noticed or reported. 6. Report carpet fraying to Maintenance Manager. 7. Wipe down stairwell doors and sweep stairwells. 8. Report carpet fraying to Property Manager. Dust hallway light fixtures. 10.Dust exit lights. Respond to emergency clean-ups. Report items needing attention to Maintenance Manager. Take an active role in preserving the appearance of the building. The housekeeper is to wear a uniform at all times, with exterior identification when wearing a coat for exterior work. The housekeeper is to wear a badge at all times.
