Full Job Description Full-time Housekeeper/Laundry Position Summary:
The Housekeeping Assistant provides cleaning services to maintain a safe, sanitary, comfortable, and homelike environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This role supports infection control, survey readiness, and quality of life for residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas daily per facility standards. Perform terminal cleaning of resident rooms as needed. Clean windows, walls, ceilings, floors, and furniture according to schedules. Handle and dispose of waste, including biohazardous waste, per facility procedures. Monitor for pests and report concerns to supervisor. Assist with emergency cleaning tasks and survey preparation. Skills & Competencies Knowledge of infection control and housekeeping standards. Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and chemicals. Strong organizational and prioritization skills. Respect for resident dignity and privacy.
Required:
Functional literacy and ability to follow instructions.
Preferred:
Prior housekeeping experience in healthcare or hospitality. Physical & Work Requirements Standing/walking for most of shift; frequent bending and lifting (5 -40 lbs). Ability to push housekeeping carts (up to 300 lbs with assistance). Exposure to odors, chemicals, and wet/humid conditions.
