Housekeeper

We are looking for some great qualified candidates to add to our team. We are looking for people who have experience, is dependable, works independently and have a great work history. We have a full-time position and part-time position available for housekeepers with great benefits, working a day shift. This position must maintain a clean and sanitary environment, supporting Central Gardens in an effort to provide residents with a homelike quality of life by ensuring clean, orderly, immaculate and satisfying surroundings at all times. This position is critical in maintaining and strengthening the reputation of Central Gardens in the community that it serves and ensures that when residents, employees and the public enter the facility they encounter a bright, fresh, clean, comfortable and inviting environment. Responsibilities and Duties Clean resident rooms and bathrooms. Clean apartments in the independent living area. Clean facility common areas including but not limited to hallways, offices, dining room, sunroom, activity room, beauty shop, public bathrooms, foyers, utility and storage areas, pool room and laundry room. Responsible for disposal of trash, waste and other disposable materials on a daily basis. Dust all furnishings and fixtures as assigned. Disinfect and sterilize equipment and supplies. Wash walls, doors, baseboards and woodwork. Clean interior windows, window sills, glass doors throughout the building. Floor cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, polishing, vacuuming and carpet cleaning. Launder clothing and bedding of residents. Clean furniture through appropriate methods depending on material types. Operate various mechanized cleaning equipment such as vacuums, carpet cleaners and washing machines. Clean up human waste and other body fluids, as required. Follow established safety precautions when using cleaning chemicals and use as directed. Follow schedules as assigned either on a daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly basis. Stock housekeeping cart at end of day, keeping cart in a clean orderly fashion. Report any needed maintenance repairs to supervisor. Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience. Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices. Qualifications and Skills Housekeepers must follow specific directions and schedules, both written and oral. They must be thorough in their work and pay attention to details. Housekeepers need coordination skills to perform numerous duties within a specific time period, while working quickly without compromising quality. Familiarity with cleaning and disinfecting materials is important to determine appropriate solutions for specific cleaning needs. Experience with various cleaning tools and equipment is required. Ability to work with little supervision while maintaining a high level of performance is important. Proven experience as a cleaner or housekeeper is preferred. This position demands good physical and mental health. Housekeepers work on their feet most of the day, so physical endurance is necessary to carry supplies and reach cleaning areas from low to high areas. The housekeeper will be required to stand, lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach. This position must be able to move continuously during work hours and be able to lift and/or carry 50 to 75 pounds. The position requires working on a utility ladder for certain cleaning procedures.
