A Maid or Housekeeping Staff provides cleaning and housekeeping services, primarily for rooms and bathrooms in hotels and hospitals. May also work in private residences, office buildings, colleges, other institutions.
September 14, 2026 Two private families in Boonton, NJ, is seeking a proactive and highly organized Housekeeper to support two nearby residences located approximately three minutes apart. The role will be split between both homes, with approximately four hours spent at each location.
Main Responsibilities:
Split the workday between two nearby family residences Handle household laundry, folding, and putting clothing away Make beds each morning and change bed linens weekly Empty and put away dishes from the dishwasher Keep counters, toys, shoes, closets, and common areas neat and organized Wipe down and maintain kitchens and bathrooms Clean and organize refrigerators and pantries as needed Assist with light meal preparation Maintain general household organization and daily upkeep Restock and put away household items as needed Provide afternoon household and family support when the nanny or sitter is occupied with pickups and activities Assist with additional household tasks as needed to keep both homes running smoothly Required Qualities Proactive and able to recognize what needs attention without constant direction Highly organized and detail-oriented Dependable, punctual, and trustworthy Efficient and able to manage time between two households Flexible and willing to assist with a variety of household responsibilities Comfortable working independently Able to shift priorities as family needs change Service-minded with a positive, helpful attitude Qualifications Previous housekeeping, household assistant, or private-home experience preferred Strong laundry and household organization skills Comfortable working between two nearby residences Able to assist with light meal preparation Strong professional references Legally authorized to work in the
