In this multifaceted role, you will serve as a patient navigator, porter, and housekeeper, ensuring seamless patient flow, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and providing exceptional support to patients and staff alike. Your energetic approach will help foster a welcoming atmosphere while efficiently managing daily responsibilities across various hospital departments. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care in a dynamic healthcare setting. Responsibilities Assist patients with wayfinding throughout the hospital, guiding them to appointments, departments, and discharge areas with friendly professionalism Transport patients safely between departments, emergency rooms, diagnostic labs, and other designated areas while adhering to safety protocols Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in patient rooms, corridors, waiting areas, and common spaces to promote infection control and comfort Support discharge planning by coordinating with social work teams and providing logistical assistance for patient transfers or home care arrangements Utilize Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to update patient information accurately and efficiently Communicate effectively with medical staff, social services, and patients from diverse cultural backgrounds to ensure smooth operations and personalized care Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations and health insurance knowledge requirements when handling sensitive patient information Qualifications Prior experience in critical care settings such as ICU (Intensive Care Unit), emergency medicine, or hospital medicine is highly desirable Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 coding systems for billing and documentation purposes Experience working within hospice care or behavioral health environments is a plus Strong understanding of discharge planning processes and utilization review procedures in hospital settings Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and communication Excellent client communication skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds Bilingual abilities are preferred to enhance patient interactions across different populations Experience working at Level I or Level II trauma centers or in pediatric (Pediatrics/PICU) environments is advantageous Knowledge of managed care, health insurance processes, utilization management, and working within hospital-based social services enhances your candidacy Join us in delivering compassionate care through active engagement, meticulous organization, and unwavering commitment.
