A Maid or Housekeeping Staff provides cleaning and housekeeping services, primarily for rooms and bathrooms in hotels and hospitals. May also work in private residences, office buildings, colleges, other institutions.
A warm, generous family is seeking a long-term Live In Housekeeper/Babysitter to become an important part of their household. The family includes Mom, Dad, three children ages 7, 5, and 2 years old. Both parents work in New York City, have busy schedules, and need a right hand person to maintain the house and be with the children after school each day.
Responsibilities:
Since the children are all in a full day of school, this role will be approximately 70% housekeeping/ house management and 30% childrcare.
Daily household responsibilities will include:
Helping everyone get out of the home on time in the morning Dishes and kitchen cleanup Family laundry Organization and keeping household spaces neat and orderly General daily chores necessary to keep a busy home running smoothly Picking up the children from the bus stop, which is a short distance from the house, and walking them home. Must be able to drive the children to and from the bus stop during bad weather, and pick up the children from school in an emergency. Caring for and supervising the children after school until the parents return home, including providing them with a snack. Providing a second set of hands through the dinner/bath bedtime routine. Requirements Minimum 2+ years of housekeeping/house management experience Minimum 1+ years of childcare experience Strong professional references Must be trustworthy, dependable, hardworking, and organized Must be comfortable working in a large home and seeing what needs to be done without constant direction Strong English is NOT required. The family simply needs someone who can understand instructions and communicate sufficiently for everyday household needs. A strong driver with a valid driver's license is required, for emergency school pick ups or transportation to and from bus stop on days with inclement weather. Compensation & Benefits $1,200-$1,400 per week , depending on experience, skills, and overall fit.
