Job Description
Housekeeper Position Summary:
A Housekeeper is responsible for taking care of a buildings general cleanliness to provide tidy and sanitary amenities to guests and residents. Duties include cleaning floors, changing and laundering linen, and dusting surfaces throughout the building.Essential Job Functions:
- Perform general sweeping, scrubbing, mopping of hardwood, laminate, or tiled floors
- Maintains vacuuming equipment; vacuums and cleans carpets, performs further treatments such as shampooing or stain-removal
- Provide basic housekeeping duties including changing the sheets, changing and arranging the towels, restocking toilet supplies, dusting and rearranging the room after guest check out
- Collect and remove trash and debris
- Scrub sinks, basins, bathtubs, showers, and toilets in private and public bathrooms
- Clean windows, glass surfaces, mirrors, and counters
- Keep all public spaces neat and tidy
- Report repairs and replacements needed when encountered on job
- Report and return any guest properties found in the rooms while rendering service
- Maintain a positive relationship with employees and guests
- All other duties assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 21 years of age
- Must be able to obtain Health Card
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Maintain a positive relationship with employees and guests.

- Physical strength and stamina to work extended periods
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust
- Proper practice of sanitation and general hygiene
- Ability to read and/or follow written and verbal instructions
- Be physically able to lift, reach, bend and stoop.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
- Be able to communicate clearly and effectively
- Able to lift at least but not limited to 50 pounds and if more must be with assistance
- Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects)
- Ability to move quickly turning from left to right or right to left
- Flexibility in the wrist to scoop, twist, push, pull, lift, and bend
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
