A large private family in Bedford Hills, NY is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our household TEAM . The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining a beautiful home, enjoys being part of a professional household team, and has a positive "happy to help" attitude. This position involves a variety of household responsibilities, including housekeeping, laundry, organization, errands, and occasional driving. The successful candidate should be comfortable working around children and animals and be willing to assist at other family properties or locations when needed. Responsibilities Perform thorough daily housekeeping, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning, and sanitizing Maintain bedrooms, bathrooms, living areas, kitchens, and other household spaces to a high standard Handle laundry from start to finish, including washing, drying, folding, ironing, and organizing clothing and linens Properly care for and clean a variety of surfaces, including wood, tile, stone, glass, and fabrics Maintain floors using appropriate cleaning methods and equipment Keep household areas organized, neat, and welcoming Assist with outdoor household areas, patios, outdoor furniture, and general tidying when needed Run household errands and assist with shopping, pickups, deliveries, and other household needs Drive for household errands or family needs when required Work cooperatively with other members of the household staff Be comfortable and attentive around children and household pets Assist with household events, family activities, and special projects when needed Occasionally work at other family properties or locations to provide housekeeping or household assistance - full reinburmentsts for travel or travel provided. Maintain the highest standards of discretion, privacy, cleanliness, and professionalism Qualifications & Experience Previous experience in private-home, residential, or high-end housekeeping is strongly preferred Strong knowledge of cleaning and sanitation practices Experience caring for clothing, linens, delicate fabrics, and household furnishings Familiarity with standard household cleaning equipment and products Excellent organizational and time-management skills Strong attention to detail Able to work independently while also being an effective member of a household team Valid driver's license and clean driving record Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Comfortable working around children and animals Physically able to perform routine housekeeping duties, including standing, bending, lifting, and moving household supplies Professional, reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and discreet Schedule Full-time position with a flexible schedule Availability required Monday through Sunday, including weekdays and weekends Schedule will vary according to the needs of the family and household Flexibility to work occasional evenings, special events, or adjusted hours when needed is important Occasional work at other family properties or locations may be required The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is young at heart, energetic, positive, personable, and genuinely enjoys taking care of a home.
