Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper/Laundry Worker to join our team at a reputable nursing home. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents and staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing cleaning and laundry duties on a daily basis, ensuring high standards of hygiene and sanitation are upheld throughout the facility. Duties Perform daily cleaning tasks throughout the nursing home, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting common areas, resident rooms, and bathrooms. Handle laundry responsibilities such as washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens, clothing, and other items in accordance with facility protocols. Ensure all cleaning supplies and laundry detergents are used safely and stored properly. Maintain cleanliness of laundry equipment and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly. Follow infection control procedures to prevent the spread of germs and ensure a hygienic environment for residents. Assist with special cleaning projects or deep cleaning tasks as assigned. Support staff in maintaining a safe environment by adhering to safety guidelines and reporting hazards or concerns. Skills Strong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness and sanitation standards. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing time effectively. Good organizational skills to prioritize tasks efficiently. Physical stamina to perform cleaning duties that may involve lifting, bending, or standing for extended periods. Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and safety procedures related to laundry and housekeeping tasks. Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and report issues promptly. Compassionate attitude towards residents and understanding of their needs in a healthcare setting.
