Job Description

Job Overview Our Housekeeping/Laundry personnel performs the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping/Laundry Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standard, guidelines, and regulations governing this facility, and as may be directed by the Director of Environmental Services/Housekeeping Supervisor, to assure the facility is maintained in a clean, safe manner. We are always looking for positive, dependable, caring individuals to join our team to meet the growing demand in our community for quality care. Housekeeping Duties Perform day to day housekeeping functions as assigned. Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing. Clean, wash, sanitize, and polish bathroom fixtures. Assures that water marks are removed from fixtures. Change bed linens and towels according to established standards.
Clean floors to include:
sweeping, dust mopping, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, etc. Assure that appropriate wet floor signs are properly set up prior to performing such duties.
Clean carpets to include:
vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting. Discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liner. Ensure that all cleaning supplies are stocked and organized for efficient use. Perform terminal cleaning procedures as directed when a resident is discharged and/or transferred to another room/area.
Laundry Duties:
Performs day to day laundry functions as assigned. Manage laundry operations, including washing, drying, and folding. Collect and sort soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc. and place in appropriate containers or assigned areas. Fold, stack, hand, and distribute clean laundry to residents daily, or as instructed. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly. Maintain a clean and organized laundry area to promote efficiency. Assist in the cleaning of common areas such as lobbies, hallways, and restrooms as needed. Requirements Minimum 18 years of age Previous experience in housekeeping or laundry services is preferred, but not necessary. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Ability to operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team. Physical stamina is required for lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods throughout the shift.
