Job Description

Berkshire Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is currently seeking a dependable and hardworking Part-Time Housekeeper to join our team in West Babylon, NY. Our housekeeping staff plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work effectively in a team environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Performing daily housekeeping duties throughout the facility, including resident rooms, nursing units, lounges, offices, dining rooms, restrooms, stairwells, and common areas. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with facility and Environmental Services procedures. Cleaning and disinfecting resident rooms, bathrooms, furniture, fixtures, floors, and equipment. Preparing and terminal-cleaning rooms for new admissions. Collecting, packing, and disposing of trash according to established procedures. Responding to and assisting with emergency spills and cleaning requests as needed. Reporting maintenance and repair needs to the appropriate supervisor. Properly using cleaning chemicals, detergents, germicides, and housekeeping equipment. Assisting with additional housekeeping duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift at least 25 pounds. Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Previous housekeeping experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred.
