In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of sanitation and cleanliness across healthcare facilities, supporting infection prevention efforts, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms, operating areas, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents. Handle laundry duties including sorting, washing, folding, and distributing linens and uniforms in accordance with healthcare standards. Follow strict safety protocols related to chemical handling, manual handling, and heavy lifting to prevent injuries and ensure a safe working environment. Maintain sanitation standards by disinfecting surfaces and equipment according to infection control guidelines to prevent healthcare-associated infections. Use specialized floor care techniques such as buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning to uphold facility appearance and safety. Operate janitorial equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to environmental services best practices. Support team efforts by participating in safety training sessions such as OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) requirements and infection prevention protocols. Requirements Proven experience in custodial or janitorial roles within healthcare or commercial cleaning environments. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, chemical agent handling, sanitation procedures, and environmental services best practices. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting while following safe lifting practices. Familiarity with healthcare infection prevention and control measures is highly desirable. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with staff members and visitors. Experience operating cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, extractors, and floor polishers.
