Summary:
To perform all Housekeeping and Housekeeping related duties necessary to provide a safe, clean, and aesthetic environment for customers, visitors, and associates of Doylestown Hospital.
Responsibilities:
1. Follows the 7-step cleaning process for all assigned areas. Cleans/disinfects items/surfaces including but not limited to beds, bedside cabinets, overbed tables, chairs, doors, walls, glass, sinks, toilets, showers, drapes, curtains, ledges, vents, lights, office, furniture, wall hangings, telephones, wheelchairs, litters, floors, and accessories. 1.1 Area/items to be free from dust, debris, marks, stains, and other soil as verified through written or informal Q.A. checks by supervisor. 1.2 Restocks all supplies, chemicals, and cart. 1.3 Report all cleaned discharge units via the Bedtracking System 2. Removes trash and replaces trash liner. Segregates waste according to appropriate waste stream process & transports to designated holding area. 2.1 Performed on a pre-determined schedule or as needed basis. 2.2 Cans should not be overflowing prior to emptying. 3. Assists patients, visitors, Hospital staff, and other guests to provide information or services and resolve questions. 3.1 Always handles patients, guests, visitors, hospital staff, and other work contacts with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy. 3.2 Always cooperates with and assists co-workers and supervisors according to established channels and lines or authority at all times. 4. Identifies and reports broken or faulty equipment, safety hazards and patient safety risks 4.1 Always reports all items in need or repair to supervisor as needed. Takes corrective action. 4.2 Adopts and practices safe work habits & acts within security guidelines. 4.3 Reports unsafe acts & patient safety risks. 5. Actively participates in Departmental meetings, in-services, required training, competency assessment, and takes action to improve performance. 5.1 Attends all monthly departmental meetings as indicated in meeting minutes or by attendance records. 5.2 Completes required in-service trainings and competency assessments within required time frame. 5.3 Actively works to improve performance thru demonstrated training and competency assessments. Seeks opportunities for additional training to improve performance and develop technical skills. 6. Follows Infection Prevention guidelines to minimize the risk of cross contamination and reduce the spread of Infection. 6.1 Demonstrates adherence to Hand Hygiene policy 6.2 Consistently follows guidelines for Isolated Patient Room cleaning. 6.3 Follows Standard Precautions.
