Today Job Description Housekeeper Broom Tree Retreat & Conference Center | Irene, South Dakota A Place of Encounter, Rest, and Renewal About Us Broom Tree Retreat & Conference Center, a ministry of the Diocese of Sioux Falls, sits on 300 rolling acres in the Missouri Valley just west of Irene, South Dakota. We welcome men, women, youth, and families for silent retreats, directed retreats, camps, and conferences in a setting built for spiritual renewal and rest. Our lodge and cabins, comfortable guest rooms, and dining hall exist to help every guest encounter God in peace and hospitality — and our housekeeping team is essential to making that possible. Position Overview We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Housekeeper to help keep our lodging rooms, common areas, and event spaces clean, welcoming, and well-prepared for retreatants and guests. This is a flexible, Monday-Friday position with occasional weekend hours as retreat and conference schedules require. Key Responsibilities Clean and prepare guest rooms between retreats and events, including making beds, laundering linens, and restocking supplies; maintain cleanliness of common areas, hallways, meeting spaces, and restrooms; follow established cleaning and sanitation standards; report maintenance needs or facility concerns to the appropriate staff; assist with turnover and setup between groups during busy retreat and conference weekends; support the mission and hospitality of Broom Tree by treating every guest and space with care and respect. Qualifications Reliable, hardworking, and attentive to detail; able to work both independently and as part of a team; flexible schedule for occasional weekend retreats and events; prior housekeeping, hospitality, or custodial experience a plus but not required; a welcoming, positive attitude that reflects Broom Tree's mission of Catholic hospitality. Physical Demands Continuous walking, standing, bending, and climbing stairs throughout the facility; ability to lift, push, or pull items up to 25-50 lbs.; repetitive motions and safe use of cleaning equipment and chemicals; comfortable working in a fast-paced environment across a large campus setting.
