Job Title:
EVS Housekeeping Technician The EVS Housekeeping Technician maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the hospital or clinic during the second shift. This role directly supports patient care by performing high-quality cleaning, disinfection, and waste-handling tasks while following infection-control and safety standards. Second shift technicians play a key role in preparing patient rooms and clinical areas for the next days operations and ensuring all spaces meet facility cleanliness and safety expectations. Responsibilities Perform routine and deep cleaning of patient rooms, exam rooms, restrooms, hallways, waiting areas, and clinical workspaces. Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary clinic environment through thorough cleaning of patient care and common areas. Follow strict infection-control procedures, including proper disinfection of high-touch surfaces and clinical equipment. Handle and dispose of general, biohazard, and sharps waste safely and in compliance with facility and regulatory guidelines. Operate floor machines, vacuums, and other cleaning equipment safely and effectively according to established procedures. Use cleaning tools and chemicals in accordance with OSHA and facility safety guidelines. Restock supplies such as hand sanitizer, soap, paper products, and PPE in designated areas to ensure continuous availability. Respond promptly to urgent cleaning requests from nursing or clinical staff during evening and overnight hours. Complete nightly checklists and accurately document completed tasks and cleaning activities. Ensure all cleaning chemicals are labeled, used, and stored according to safety protocols and facility policies. Support infection-control efforts by consistently applying disinfection protocols to reduce contamination risks. Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate respect for patients, staff, and sensitive clinical areas at all times. Essential Skills Experience in janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or similar cleaning roles in a healthcare or clinical setting. Ability to perform routine and deep cleaning tasks in patient care and common areas. Knowledge of infection-control and disinfection protocols and willingness to follow them strictly. Ability to safely handle and dispose of general, biohazard, and sharps waste according to guidelines. Skill in operating floor machines, vacuums, and other cleaning equipment safely and effectively. Understanding of safe use and storage of cleaning chemicals in line with OSHA and facility standards. Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality cleaning and thorough completion of nightly checklists. Ability to respond quickly and professionally to urgent cleaning requests from clinical staff. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting patients, staff, and sensitive areas. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience working in a hospital or clinic environment is highly beneficial. Familiarity with PPE usage and maintaining supply levels for clinical and public areas. Comfort working evening or overnight hours and adapting to changing priorities. Work Environment This role is based in a hospital or clinic environment with direct exposure to patient care areas, exam rooms, restrooms, hallways, and waiting spaces. EVS technicians currently work one of two shifts: 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., and must be able to work weekends as part of the regular schedule. The work involves frequent standing, walking, and operating cleaning equipment such as floor machines and vacuums, as well as handling cleaning chemicals in accordance with OSHA and facility safety guidelines. Team members follow established infection-control and safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carthage, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $13.00 - $14.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
