Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Temporary Housekeeper to join our healthcare facility team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitized environment that promotes health and well-being for patients, staff, and visitors. Your proactive approach to cleaning and sanitation, combined with adherence to safety protocols, will ensure our facility remains a welcoming and hygienic space. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to healthcare infection prevention and control efforts while gaining valuable custodial experience in a dynamic environment. Duties Perform thorough cleaning of resident rooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents. Follow strict sanitation protocols to prevent the spread of infections and ensure compliance with healthcare safety standards. Maintain cleanliness of floors through sweeping, mopping, buffing, and floor care procedures using specialized equipment. Ensure all cleaning supplies and chemical agents are stored safely in accordance with environmental services guidelines. Assist with inventory management of janitorial supplies and cleaning equipment to ensure operational efficiency. Adhere to safety protocol guidelines at all times, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and chemical handling procedures. Support healthcare infection prevention efforts by maintaining high standards of cleanliness in all areas of the facility. Respond promptly to cleaning requests from staff or management to uphold a clean and welcoming environment. Experience Prior janitorial or custodial experience in healthcare facilities or hospitals is preferred. Experience with commercial cleaning techniques including floor care, sanitation practices, and the use of cleaning equipment. Demonstrated ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including safe lifting practices. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, staff members and visitors. Familiarity with healthcare infection prevention and control standards is a plus. Previous experience working in hospital or healthcare environments will be advantageous for understanding specific sanitation requirements.
