Pay:
$20/hour, W-2, paid weekly. Mileage reimbursed at the IRS rate for errands.
Schedule:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 8:30 am to 1:30 pm (15 hrs/week). Long-term. Start within two weeks.
ABOUT THE JOB
We're a family in Rosenberg with two little girls (ages 2 and 3), a school-age son, and two friendly female Dobermans. Mom is home and takes care of the kids. We need one dependable person to run the house: kitchen, laundry and cleaning, and to lend a hand with the girls when Mom asks. Some mornings won't fit everything, so here are our priorities in order. Mom may change the order on a given day.
YOUR PRIORITIES, IN ORDER
First, Kitchen:
Cook a healthy breakfast and some days lunch, do the dishes, wipe down, take out the trash, and roll the bins to the curb and back on pickup days (pickup is twice a week).
Our kitchen is halal:
no pork or alcohol, halal meat only. We eat protein, vegetables, fruit and fiber, and no junk food. We'll show you where we shop. Second, Laundry, start to finish: Wash, dry, iron or steam, fold, and put away in each person's closet and drawers. Some items need special care and we'll train you. Drop off and pick up dry cleaning (the cleaner is 4 minutes away) and put it away. There's a backlog to catch up on at the start.
Third, Cleaning:
One zone per visit on a rotation (bathrooms, floors, vacuuming, bedrooms), plus daily tidying.
Fourth, Dogs:
Let them into the backyard, feed them, refill water, wash bowls. Fifth, Helping with the girls, sometimes: When Mom asks, a diaper change or potty help, feeding them and cleaning up after, or a screen-free activity (reading aloud, letters, numbers, colors). Our son is home on school holidays and in summer.
WHAT WE NEED
Experience keeping a home. Strong laundry and ironing skills are a must. Experience with toddlers is a plus. Two references we can call. Willing to complete a background check. We pay for it. Reliable vehicle, valid license and insurance for errands. You will not drive the children. Live within about 20 minutes of Rosenberg and be on time at 8:30 am, every time. Reliability matters more to us than anything else on this list. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Comfortable with large dogs. Legally authorized to work in the U.S. Personal phone stays put away while working, except on breaks. Our home has indoor security cameras in common areas. You'll sign a simple confidentiality agreement.
