Job Description
Position Summary We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and highly detail-oriented secondary housekeeper to help care for a private residence. This is a regular part-time position working alongside the household's primary housekeeper. The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining a clean, comfortable, and well-organized home, communicates clearly, and can complete responsibilities with minimal supervision. Because this position is within a private residence, discretion, professionalism, and respect for the household's privacy are essential. The position will begin with a part-time schedule, with the possibility of additional hours depending on availability, performance, coverage needs, and the household's ongoing needs. There may also be an opportunity to transition into the primary housekeeper role in the future. Candidates interested in eventually taking on a larger or more consistent weekly schedule are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Work alongside and coordinate with the household's primary housekeeper Perform routine and detailed cleaning throughout the residence Provide additional coverage when the primary housekeeper is unavailable Complete occasional deep-cleaning projects as requested Clean baseboards, doors, cabinets, appliances, and hard-to-reach areas Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors Dust furniture, fixtures, baseboards, and other surfaces Clean and sanitize kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and common areas Wash dishes, empty the dishwasher, and return items to their proper places Complete household laundry, including washing, drying, folding, hanging, and neatly putting away clothing and linens Change bed linens and make beds Pick up, organize, and return household items to their designated places Empty trash and recycling and replace liners Monitor cleaning products and household supplies and communicate when items need to be restocked Occasionally complete local household-related errands, such as purchasing supplies, collecting mail or packages, and picking up or dropping off household items Handle household belongings carefully and respectfully Follow established household preferences and cleaning instructions Communicate promptly regarding scheduling, supplies, maintenance concerns, or other household needs Assist with other reasonable housekeeping, household organization, and errand-related tasks as needed Required Qualifications Previous professional housekeeping, residential cleaning, or related experience Strong attention to detail and high standards for cleanliness Reliable transportation Punctual, dependable, responsible, and able to manage time effectively Comfortable completing occasional local household errands Able to work independently and as part of a household team Able to follow instructions and established cleaning procedures Strong and respectful communication skills Some weekend availability, including Saturday or Sunday Willing to provide reasonable advance notice of scheduling changes or absences Able to maintain strict discretion and respect the household's privacy Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks for extended periods Ability to safely use standard household cleaning equipment Ability to lift and carry household items and cleaning supplies weighing up to 25-30 pounds What We're Looking For The right person will be trustworthy, observant, proactive, and consistent.
