Job Description
Bowling Green Health & Rehabilitation Center in Bowling Green, VA is seeking a qualified candidate to join our growing team as a Housekeeper. As a Housekeeper, you'll play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. Working under the direction of the Housekeeping / Environmental Services Director, you'll ensure resident rooms and common areas are kept to the highest standards to help our center meet its commitment of providing Care Beyond Compare. Dust, wipe, and disinfect furniture, fixtures, surfaces, and high-touch areas throughout the facility. Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in assigned areas on a daily basis. Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with facility policies and infection control standards. Clean and disinfect resident bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, showers, and floors. Restock paper products, soap, and other supplies in resident rooms and common areas as needed. Mix and use cleaning chemicals and solutions safely and according to manufacturer guidelines and OSHA standards. Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment, and supply closets in a clean and organized manner. Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or maintenance needs promptly to the supervisor. Respond promptly to spills, accidents, and special cleaning requests throughout the facility. Follow all facility policies regarding infection control, bloodborne pathogens, and hazardous waste disposal. Interact with residents, families, and staff in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner. What You Need High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred. Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment. Understanding of proper chemical handling and safety procedures. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established cleaning schedules. Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
