Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms, common areas, restrooms, and administrative spaces using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment. Execute detailed floor care procedures including sweeping, mopping, buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning to maintain high standards of sanitation and appearance. Handle laundry duties such as washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and uniforms in accordance with healthcare protocols. Safely operate cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers, vacuums, buffers, and chemical dispensing systems while adhering to safety protocols. Manage chemical agent handling with precision, ensuring proper storage, usage, and disposal in compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards. Follow strict sanitation procedures aligned with healthcare infection prevention and control guidelines to prevent cross-contamination. Assist with environmental services tasks such as waste removal, restocking supplies, and maintaining cleanliness in all designated areas. Support heavy lifting activities using safe lifting practices when moving furniture or large equipment to prevent injury. Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, safety checks, and supply inventories to ensure accountability and compliance. Requirements Proven janitorial or custodial experience within healthcare facilities or similar environments. Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to chemical handling, manual handling, and safety protocol adherence. Experience with healthcare infection prevention and control practices is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following safe lifting practices; physical stamina for prolonged standing and walking. Familiarity with cleaning techniques specific to healthcare settings including sanitation standards for patient safety. Competence in operating various cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, buffers, and chemical dispensers. Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude towards patients, staff, and visitors. Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining high-quality work standards.
